Vacation

Thank God. We were able to squeeze in a vacation at the end of the summer. It was good. SO GOOD. We shot over to Cape Cod and hung out with Krista's grandparents.

After that we shot up to NY to see Riggs for a few days ... so good.

Three Cups of Tea

If you haven't read "Three Cups of Tea", then you should probably get on it. This guy is figuring out how to bring peace in some wild areas, and he's doing it without even meaning to. We should all back him in whatever way we can! That means money if you've got it and prayer either way!

Fresno Dome

The Calvin Crest week 8 junior high that we took our students to was quite small this year. As a result, we were able to do some pretty sweet stuff. In fact, we took every single male camper and hiked to the top of Fresno Dome, where we spent the night. It was a great time for students and leaders alike. Moreover, it's been impressive to see how the team here has looked for new and different ways to run the week with such small numbers. Kudos to them for going above and beyond; it made all the difference.

He saves lives

We've learned that if we swim too deep at the lake (or pool) our dog will swim after us, grab hold of our hand, and drag us back to shore. He won't break the skin, but he sure won't let go!

And we love him for it.

La Esperanza

Well ... we made it. 3 more homes for families that did not have them 1.5 weeks ago. We also survived a move, a junior high overnighter, and several house guests within the last couple of weeks.

Life is good. Right? :)

A little late

So, we got a new dog, Denali. He's been with us for just over two weeks, but I wanted to wait until I had a couple of decent pictures before I posted. So here you go:

My father would be proud. Today I played and won my first game of Irish Bowling.

New Life

When we were in Mississippi a few months ago I snapped a bunch of shots of these two youngsters and their make-shift teeter-totter. How quickly they brought life to a few pieces of wood and a couple of bricks gave me hope.

The Gulf Coast is still in a bad way, and if you have time and energy these people still need us.

It's been a long time since I've had a moment to get here and post. Reality is - I still don't have time to post. I'm at a coffee shop with my wife, and we're both working on papers (present moment accepted).
Anyway, they have a sign in the lobby here that reads:

"Unattended children will be given espresso and free puppies."

Brilliant.

Northbound

Krista and I head to Spokane this weekend with one of our high school students. She's coming up to check out schools and Krista is coming up to do some leg work for her dissertation. You might wonder why I'm going north ... I'll get back to you on that.

I think that this is pretty much what I would do with myself if I had the time. And yes, I would be just as excited as these guys if I pulled it off.

Stuntman Update

1. We filed to get ourselves a Limited Liability Company.
2. We own the State of California TM for "Stuntman Clothing".
3. We're still waiting on the Federal TM. In the meanwhile, Steve-o, yes the one from the fine movies, has applied for "Stuntman Skateboards" and all clothing rights etc. This could get interesting.
